Halo 5: Guardians Art

Its been a wild 3 years on this project and I'm very glad to finally show off what I have been working on.

Some insights into this project. I was a principal artist on the new mode Breakout coming up with the art system and the overall look. I was leading not only internal but outsourcing teams as well in this great endeavor. I was working on the Midship remake known as Regret with Vic Deleon as we came up with a newer style before I was moved on to Plaza to help with the creation of that map.

3D Scanning Testing

Been a while. I have been working on shipping Halo 5 so most of my time has been there. Anyway my wife and I have been getting into 3D Scanning pipelines and it has been a blast. I was finally able to get some stuff to work out using techniques from online and from Liz.
I have a ways to go but I wanted to post some rough tests I rendered in 3ds Max

Halo 5 Beta

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates but now I have something I've been working on and can finally show off!
As of tonight 11-10-14 343 has officially shown off some great stuff from the Halo 5 beta and the map I have been working on is out. I was one of the main artists in the new game mode Breakout. We wanted to convey a hardcore E-sport style and look and working with Kenneth Scott and then soon after the one and only Sparth. We got this bag of awesome. Rocket..Yeah! Satellite of Love Pt. 4

So I am calling this done. Maybe I will go back and update like I have with a few other pieces but right now I'm digging where its at now. Here are the final renders:





I've been getting a lot of emails and messages about what my wire frame looks like. So here you go. If you have followed or read any of my tutorials or articles I tend to let smoothing do a lot of the leg work so I have included but the wire frame not smoothed so you can see the shapes and typology and what the wire frame looks like after I smooth it out. 




And like any good artist, there are a ton of WIPs of renderings that just never made the cut. While they all had goods and bads here are some of the versions I had and some tests as well to show off lighting and material work.
